Patient care experiences of long-term care hospitals nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic: A phenomenological study

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe and understand the meaning essence care experienced by long-term-care-hospital nurses during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is a phenomenological Colaizzi (1978) identify nurses' experiences after outbreak. Data collection conducted from April June 2021 for 10 working at long-term-care hospital. Interviews were face-to-face or non-face-to-face. interviews in space following COVID-19-mandated quarantine rules. Results: Seven theme clusters 24 themes emerged: chaos early stage pandemic, lack standardized protocol hindering delivery hospitals, sympathizing with sorrows patients their families, taking burdensome task infection control as nurse, vaccine-related anxiety, anger reality hospitals stigmatizing society, hope recovery disaster caused COVID-19. Conclusion: will be helpful establishing policies systems that help improve ability cope pandemic post-COVID-19 era.
